Current River Recreation Association – 2025 Soccer Information

 

The Current River Recreation Association is pleased to offer its child/youth neighbourhood soccer program beginning in the Spring.

 

This program is focused on fun, learning, fitness, and good sportsmanship. The program is open to children who are between the ages of 3 and 14 as of January 1, 2025.

 

Teams play for 1 hour every Monday and Wednesday evening at the Current River soccer fields. Practice/game start times are between 5:30pm and 6:30pm, depending on division.

 

Divisions

 

Please note that divisions may be adjusted at the start of the season, depending on enrollment.

Tykes - FULL

3-5 years

Squirts - FULL

6-7 years

Atom - FULL

8-10 years

Mosquito - FULL

11-14 years

 

We will begin our season in early May when the fields are dry enough. We aim to start May 5, 2025, if weather permits.

 

Our seasons wraps up with a fun-filled Soccerama the morning of Saturday, June 21, 2025. All teams will have a chance to play followed by snacks and award presentation in the Community Centre. The schedule will be announced closer to the event.

 

The 2025 fee is $50 per player, which includes a CRRA Membership.

 

Volunteer Opportunities 

 

We need volunteers to help run our program! Please help keep our program running– no experience required!

Coach

  • One 1-hour pre-season meeting;
  • 1-hour games twice weekly for the season;
  • 1 “Soccerama” event
  • Organize team, run drills and practices, ensure equal play, and promote sportsmanship

Assistant Coach

  • One 1-hour pre-season meeting;
  • 1-hour games twice weekly for the season;
  • 1 “Soccerama” event
  • Assist in coaching duties; fill in for coach if required

Referee

  • 1-hour games twice weekly for the season (or as many as you are able to attend)
  • Assist in keeping games organized and instructing players on proper procedures and rules

Fieldsperson

 
  • Two evenings a week 5:15pm-7:45pm (not required to stay entire time – only needed at beginning and end of evening for nets)
 
  • Take out and put away nets for all games/divisions twice weekly

Soccerama

  • 1-4 hours during Soccerama event (Jun 21, 2025)
  • Prepare and serve team snack packages
  • General clean-up

We are no longer accepting registrations for the 2025 soccer program. Thank you for your interest!

 

Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque (Please make cheques payable to CRRA or Current River Recreation Association) or E-transfer (use the password “soccer”)

 

 

We will have a coaches’ meeting on Wednesday, April 30 from 6:30-7:30pm at the Community Centre.
